Tonight was the first of three hip hop shows Emily will be participating in (the other two shows will both be on Saturday). I’ll try to get some video of Emily in the shows on the website this weekend. Every student who attends her hip hop dance school (which has a large enrollment) participates in the shows that are put on at the end of each quarter (4 times a year). The shows take place in a small community theater. Since the shows are so well attended, a group of three performances is necessary each quarter.

Emily regularly attends a weekend hip hop dance class put on by a group called Show Biz Productions. A select group of Show Biz Productions students make up a group called the Hip Hop Crew. The Hip Hop Crew performs at Sacramento Kings (NBA) and Sacramento Monarchs (WNBA) games as well as other Sacramento area events. Emily is not quite at the level of being on the Hip Hop Crew (yet). There is one girl younger than Emily who is on the team though.
